Operations managers and warehouse directors read a CV looking for three things: the scale you have been responsible for (floor area, SKUs, orders, vehicles), the systems you have used (WMS, ERP, Excel) and the metrics you have maintained (on-time delivery, inventory count variance, cost per order). An operations CV template is one that shows those three things in the top half of page one. This article explains how to write it and how to choose among the 7 templates.
Operations covers a wide range of roles, from storekeepers, fleet dispatchers and import-export documentation staff to production planners, so the first line under your name must say which part of the chain you work in: "Storekeeper, 4 years, 2,400 m² consumer goods warehouse, 3,500 SKUs, WMS". After the summary comes experience: for each employer, give the scale, the stage you were responsible for and the systems, then three or four bullet points of results. What goes first depends on the role:
| Role | What to put first |
|---|---|
| Storekeeper, warehouse staff | What to put firstFloor area, number of SKUs, warehouse software, forklift certificate |
| Transport dispatcher | What to put firstVehicles and trips per day, on-time rate, fuel costs |
| Import-export documentation | What to put firstFCL, LCL and air freight; customs declarations per month; VNACCS, ECUS |
In operations, the formula action, number, result always includes a point of comparison: before and after you did something. "Managed the warehouse" is a duty; "re-slotted stock using ABC classification, cutting picking time per order from 9 minutes to 6" is a result.
Example experience section for a storekeeper
Storekeeper, X Consumer Goods Distribution Company, Tay Ninh, 02/2022 to present
Manage a 2,400 m² warehouse holding 3,500 SKUs and handling 1,200 orders a day with 14 pickers, running on WMS and SAP. Quarterly inventory count variance down from 0.8% to 0.2% after introducing daily cycle counting. 97% on-time delivery in 2025.
For software, give the name and the modules you have used: SAP MM or WM, Oracle, Odoo, Misa, Bravo, WMS platforms, ECUS customs declaration software. For Excel, list the functions you actually use, such as Pivot, XLOOKUP and Power Query; Power BI is a plus. Industry certificates include forklift operation, occupational safety, fire prevention and firefighting, customs declaration, Incoterms 2020, 5S, Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma; give the issuer and expiry date.
The first mistake is the most common, and fixing it takes just one line.
International freight forwarders, foreign logistics providers and foreign-invested factories accept English CVs; domestic warehouses, retail chains and distributors accept Vietnamese. Keep technical terms in English in both versions: SKU, OTIF, lead time, FCL. One to two pages is enough, with certificates in the side column.
This group has 7 templates; what they have in common is a figures block and dedicated sections for software and certificates. For a large group's online recruitment portal, choose a one-column ATS-friendly template; when applying directly to a warehouse or distributor, choose a two-column template so scale and metrics sit side by side. Import-export documentation staff should choose a template with a clear certificates section for their customs declaration qualifications. Each template offers 10 layouts, 36 backgrounds and 69 fonts; fill it in from your profile and download a PDF.
Give the scale of the places you have worked, including seasonal jobs: floor area, orders per day, software or scanners used, shifts. For newcomers, employers look at familiarity with the work and willingness to do shifts more than at metrics.
Forklift operation is subject to strict safety requirements, and drivers must be trained and certified. Applications with a valid certificate always get called first.
Import-export documentation, international freight forwarding and work with shipping lines require reading and writing emails and documents in English; for domestic warehousing and dispatch, it is not required.
