Checking a company before you apply: its page, its business registration and what to ask

6 sectionsAbout 3 min readUpdated 01/10/2026

Most people pick a job post by its salary and only then look at the company name, yet it is the company that decides whether your next year will be pleasant or hard going. This directory brings together the companies hiring on Việc Hot, with their size, industry, location, benefits and number of open posts; below you will find how to read that information, how to check it against the business registration and which questions to raise at interview.

Checking against business registration data

A company page is the company's own description of itself; registration data is what a state authority has recorded. Put the two side by side before you apply: go to the tax code lookup page, type in the company name and compare the following four points.

  • Whether the legal entity name on the registration matches the name on the company page and in the job post; a brand name that differs from the legal entity is normal, but you need to know which legal entity will sign your contract.
  • The date operations began: a company only a few months old that is hiring dozens of people should be asked in detail about its founders, funding and product.
  • Whether the main business line fits the work you will do; if the company is hiring an "investment consultant" but its main business line is retail, ask exactly what you would advise on and for whom.
  • The status must be active; statuses such as temporarily suspended, ceased operations or not operating at the registered address are a reason to stop.

Questions to ask at interview

An interview works both ways. A decent employer values a candidate who asks pertinent questions; if an employer dodges the questions below, you already have your answer.

  1. Is the salary we are discussing gross or net, and what salary will insurance contributions be based on?
  2. How long is probation, what percentage of the salary is paid during probation, and what are the criteria for passing it?
  3. Is this a new position or a replacement; if it is a replacement, why did the previous person leave?
  4. Who will I report to, which departments will I work with, and how many people are in the team?
  5. What does a typical working day look like; is overtime common, and how is overtime paid?
  6. How often are pay rises and promotions reviewed, and on what criteria?
  7. What does the company expect me to achieve in the first three months?
  8. What is the next step in the process, and when will I hear the outcome?

Before the meeting, work out your take-home figure with the gross to net salary calculator and practise your answers with the interview question sets for your position.

Following companies and getting their new posts

Click Follow on a company page to get a notification when it publishes a new post; combined with job alerts by keyword and location, you will see posts from the companies you are targeting on the day they go up, while few people have applied. Companies that do not yet have a page on Việc Hot can sign up for an employer account and verify it with their tax code to start receiving applications.

Frequently asked questions

The company signed up for an employer account with its tax code, and its legal entity name has been checked against business registration data. The badge confirms that the legal entity exists; it is not a rating of the working environment.

Ask directly at interview what salary insurance contributions are based on, and ask for it to be stated in the contract. Once you start work, you can check your contribution history in VssID, the social insurance app.

Yes, if the founders, product, office and funding are clear. What to avoid is a company a few months old hiring on a large scale with unusually high salaries and vague job descriptions.

Asking someone you know who has worked there is the most reliable source. Read online reviews selectively: pay attention to reviews that describe specific events and ignore generic praise or criticism.
